Reporting to the Director, Human Resources, as our Learning & Enablement Manager, you are an ambassador of NVA Canada, you love making connections, building meaningful relationships and developing employees skills and knowledge. You are multi-faceted with a great mix of problem solving and interpersonal communication skills, which enables you to succeed in a highly collaborative and fast-paced work environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing various learning and development initiatives, in partnership with our Human Resources, Operations and Mentorship partners to support the growth and skill development of all employees across the NVA community.

What You’ll Do:

  • Assessing the organization’s training and development needs through consultation with HR, Operations Leadership and Mentorship partners to develop learning strategies for scalable and sustainable learning solutions.
  • Responsible for facilitating learning and development priority setting with Learning and Development committee.
  • Designing and implementing comprehensive learning and development programs that align with the company’s strategic objectives. Project Managing learning solutions through design/development and delivery stages and support implementation of all leadership/operational/technical training and performance support initiatives in partnership with key business leaders/partners.
  • Develops and implements standardized orientation for NVA Canada.
  • Identifies infrastructure necessary to enable responsive learning for Hospital leaders.
  • Supports local site-specific training and coaching initiatives in partnership with HR Business Partners and Hospital Leadership.
  • Identifying and integrating new learning technologies and methodologies to enhance the learning experience.
  • Evaluating and maintaining the effectiveness of training programs and providing recommendations for improvement
  • Providing guidance and support to managers on coaching, mentoring, and career development opportunities for their teams
  • Collaborating with external vendors and subject matter experts as needed
  • Continually updates personal knowledge regarding best practices regarding trends in veterinary community care and adult education methods.
  • Supporting and facilitating seminars, workshops and training events to assist with developing employees’ knowledge, skills, and abilities.

What makes someone a good fit?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Development, Education, Human Resources or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
  • 10 years + demonstrated experience in developing, supporting and leading learning and development programs.
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design, and training methodologies
  • You are curious, you like to roll up your sleeves are a self-starter

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in learning management systems and e-learning platforms
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Able to adapt and respond quickly to changing priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal and group process facilitation skills; skilled at building relationships with varied levels of management and field operators
  • Able to influence action and obtain information effectively and tactfully from and to business partners and subject matter experts.
  • Relevant certifications in learning and development are a plus.
  • Open to working in a flexible hybrid work environment
