The Heartland Team is looking for a dedicated and experienced Learning & Development Manager to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial role in Develop and execute the strategic initiatives for the learning and development needs across the enterprise through partnerships with segment heads. In this role you will apply your expertise in learning and development to provide direction for organizational training plans, acting as a resource for project teams and organizational leaders on the development and design of associate learning. With a passion for training others and a positive, solutions-based methodology, you will work with leaders and managers to identify and train Subject Matter Experts, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to deliver effective training, as well as facilitating training programs and classes as needed. Create, design, implement and evaluate employee educational and developmental programs.

A typical day might include the following:

  • Develop, design, and execute training strategy aligned with organizational needs through collaboration with all lines of business.
  • Assess the needs of all employees educational and developmental programs including, but not limited to in-house classes, on-the-job training, online training, Heartland systems, cross-training efforts, training outlines and new hire onboarding success measurements.
  • Assign activities, provide feedback, evaluate performance, and develop the training specialist.
  • Partner with our Training Specialist to train new hire retail positions.
  • Coordinate the administration of the Learning Management System (LMS) and speak to training compliance with bank audits.
  • Establish training objectives and standards and measure impact to achieve organizational goals.
  • Develop and coordinate the design and delivery of leadership training.
  • Remain current with all Heartland policies, procedures, and technologies to insure consistency of best practices in educational and developmental programs.
  • Oversee, and as needed facilitate, new hire onboarding activities and schedules while assessing and evaluating the effectiveness of the program and making necessary and appropriate enhancements as needed.
  • Oversight of learning and development budget.
  • Facilitate annual Principles of Banking course including course scheduling, speaker assignments and support, evaluating coursework and exams and teaching a unit of instruction from the Principles of Banking textbook.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field such as Human Resources, Organization Development, Education, Instructional Design or equivalent work experience.
  • Prior experience with training using a variety of modalities. (in-person, telephonic, LMS structured classes and video-based learning).
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in facilitating learning solutions for adult learners.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience designing, developing and delivering corporate training programs.
  • Prior bank experience preferred including knowledge of banking products and services.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Suite including Outlook, Internet Explorer
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems preferred
  • Experience with Video Based Learning Creating and Development preferred
