REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • 5 or more years of dynamic experience in training, learning and development, organizational development, culture transformation, performance consulting, and/or team development
  • Ability to partner with multiple clients simultaneously and manage multiple priorities with strong project management/consultant skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Understanding and experience applying various development approaches that span formal training, relationship-based, and experience-based development (70-20-10 model of development)
  • Ability to quickly absorb organizational nuances and needs to “speak the language” of the client
  • Ability to gain credibility and influence executive audiences with strong executive communication skills
  • Ability to synthesize large amounts of data to make strategic recommendations and see gaps and improve the accuracy of data-driven decision-making.
  • Demonstrate the ability to present a clear, thorough content strategy to various audiences and articulate how this approach supports the learning objectives defined
  • Demonstrate exceptional presentation skills with both concepts and scripted content for a variety of audiences; ensure messaging is appropriate for each
  • Demonstrated strong written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Prior experience with eLearning tools such as Articulate Storyline
  • Extensive knowledge in learning and development models, adult learning theory, and instructional design preferred
  • Experience with instructional facilitation for complex businesses that include a spectrum of employee types, from early career to executive preferred

EDUCATION

  • BA/BS in Business, Education, Instructional Design, Psychology, Performance Consulting, Training/Curriculum Development, Communications, or related field – OR – Relevant equivalent experience
  • Advanced Degree or equivalent experience in Education, Industrial Psychology, Organizational Behavior/Psychology, or Organizational Development/Effectiveness
  • Formal certification/education/experience in applying learning models, adult development theory, or curriculum development
  • Preferred Assessment Certifications: DiSC, TRACOM Social Styles, CliftonStrengths, MBTI, FourSight, InSights
    The hiring range for this position in Burbank is $123,000.00-$150,200 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered

The Learning & Talent Solutions team supporting Corporate and Direct-to-Consumer functions works to reimagine ways to make Disney an exceptional place to work. We are seeking a Learning and Development Manager to join our highly visible team!

WHAT WORK YOU’LL DO:

  • Facilitate open enrollment offerings, intact solutions, and leadership development sessions. Your ability to engage and inspire others will be a key piece in making our learning and talent development a success
  • Maintain a clear understanding of various participant learning styles to accommodate and provide a positive learning environment for diverse participants
  • Curate and assemble content by topic area across different types of learning experiences such as virtual instructor-led, in-person learning experiences, and self-directed learning
  • Partner and consult with key clients to develop comprehensive learning solutions that build skills and capabilities, employee engagement, and results for complex businesses that span across the Corporate segment or Direct-to-Consumer organization
  • Act as a key thought partner using existing learning and development resources and courses to develop leaders within The Walt Disney Company
  • Build and maintain strong relationships across the HR and business community; Deepen knowledge and understanding of multiple businesses to interpret needs and challenges, proactively recommend sophisticated learning solutions, in partnership with senior leadership
  • Apply learning theory/models, benchmark standard processes/trends, and maintain knowledge of innovative approaches to deliver learning solutions that drive lasting impact; Rigorously keep up with consulting/training industry trends to provide effective and significant learning solutions to client groups
  • Drive post-learning analysis and measurement/survey reviews to measure the effectiveness of content for both the participant and the organization and make continuous improvements
  • Partner with the Enterprise Center of Excellence to identify new content needs for learning and development experiences and participate in cross-functional teams to co-design solutions
  • Co-design, develop, and deliver micro-learning leadership engagement strategy
  • Partner with Talent Management to research, develop, and design a High Potential individual contributor learning & development strategy
  • Participate in the Corporate/DTC Learning Community Forum to keep business partners informed on current and upcoming learning activities
