LEARNING DEVELOPMENT & PRODUCT SUPPORT SPECIALIST

WorldWide Electric is a leading manufacturer of electric motors, motor controls, gear reducers, and generators. We are looking for a Learning Development and Product Support Specialist to manage and create technical and training materials that support the lifecycle of our products. This is a mid-level position that reports to the Director of Marketing. This is an in-office based position in Hernando, MS.
Job description: We seek a customer-centric Learning Development and Product Support Specialist with proven experience in technical writing, product documentation, and instructional design. This is a primary role in a growing marketing team that services a sales-focused organization operating in the industrial marketplace. In this role, you will develop and manage all product support and training materials for educating internal and external customers, including product manuals, quick-start guides, documentation, presentations, graphics, and videos. You will interface with product managers and subject matter experts to define requirements and create relevant training content for existing and new products. You will be responsible for the company’s customer facing training programs, and lead the development of an extensive learning library, including building video-based training courses and developing computer-based training materials. You must be able to work as part of a remote team and work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines. You will also have the opportunity to work across all of WorldWide Electric’s brands and expand your skills across marketing disciplines. The ideal candidate will have experience in customer education, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and experience supporting industrial products.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Create a wide variety of deliverables using Adobe Creative Cloud and publishing software, such as InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat, Premier, etc.
  • 3-5 years of experience as a technical author or instructional designer for an industrial products company.
  • Experience in developing and implementing product support materials and computer-based-training
  • Very Proficient with Microsoft PowerPoint; working with themes and templates is second nature.
  • Ability to create, edit, and produce videos using industry-standard tools and software.
  • Bachelor’s degree in technical communications or a related field.
  • Proficient with Microsoft suite of products: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Manage and prioritize multiple tasks and projects to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work creatively within existing brand guidelines.
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team
  • Ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Experience working for a B2B industrial products company.
  • Experience working in an Agile marketing environment is a plus.
  • Action-oriented with a strong sense of urgency and the ability to prioritize and adapt.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
  • Willingness to “roll up sleeves” daily to be involved in getting the work done is a requirement.

Responsibilities:

  • Create, edit, and manage all aspects of product support materials, including product manuals, quick-start guides, documentation, computer-based training, presentations, graphics, and videos.
  • Interface with product managers and subject matter experts to define product support material requirements.
