Learning Experience Designer
As a Learning Experience Designer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, creating and delivering innovative learning experiences aimed at developing leadership skills and fostering organizational growth. This role combines instructional design expertise with a deep understanding of leadership principles and modern learning methodologies to craft engaging and impactful learning journeys for leaders at all levels within the organization.
In this role, as a Learning Experience Designer, you are a passionate advocate of Learning & Development with a strong focus towards leadership development. You will also have enthusiasm and expertise around change management. With the L&D Operations team you will design and develop learner-centric, compelling, and innovative learning experiences.

Main responsibilities

  • Accountable for designing, creating, and curating innovative, learner-centric, and engaging learner experiences (LX) for assigned projects and initiatives primarily focused to leadership development.
  • Apply principles of adult learning theory, instructional design models, and best practices in educational technology to design engaging and effective learning experiences.
  • Create scalable, high-quality learning materials, including presentations, case studies, videos, podcasts, articles, and interactive exercises, to support leadership development initiatives.
  • Ensure that content is relevant and tailored to diverse leadership styles and contexts.
  • Design and develop change management learning solutions based on Prosci ADKAR methodology.
  • Collaborate closely with subject matter experts, internal stakeholders, and external partners to gather insights, validate learning objectives, and incorporate feedback into program design and development.
  • Develop assessment strategies to measure the effectiveness and impact of leadership development programs.
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends, research findings, and industry best practices in leadership development, change management, adult education, and learning technology by actively following and contributing to L&D trends inside and outside of KONE.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for innovation and enhancement within the leadership development curriculum.
  • Ensure that learner experiences meet several criteria including, but not limited to:
  • meets the business needs and objectives.
  • measurable to verify business impact at least on agreed level (metrics & KPIs designed & agreed case by case).
  • conveys the key messages and changes (information, knowledge, behavioral changes etc.) and support the organizational and behavioral changes needed.
  • Proactively build awareness of learning experience design within the L&D community (share, train, communicate).
  • Ensure close co-operation with learning offering managers, L&D Operations, areas, trainers and other KONE units and stakeholders.

Skills, education and experience

  • Minimum 5 years working within Learning Experience Design or Instructional Design.
  • Minimum 3 years working on scalable leadership development programs.
  • M.Sc. or Bachelor degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in instructional design, curriculum development, or learning experience design, preferably in a leadership development context.
  • Deep understanding of leadership theories, models, and competencies, with the ability to translate these into practical learning interventions.
  • Possess strong domain knowledge of Prosci ADKAR change management methodology.
  • Proficiency in instructional design software tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate) and learning management systems (LMS).
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of design thinking process, fused with solid instructional design experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders and present complex ideas in a clear and compelling manner.
  • Excellent project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to create business impact through LXD.
  • Analytical mindset with experience in evaluating learning effectiveness and using data-driven insights to inform program design decisions.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and a passion for creating transformative learning experiences that empower leaders to reach their full potential.
  • Solid knowledge of the latest LXD and L&D trends and technologies.
  • Strong experience in working in cross-cultural and cross-functional team transformations and working in matrix and in networks.

The primary working location will be Finland, but other working locations can be considered.
