Job Description
The strategy of Anglo American is to secure, develop and operate a portfolio of high quality and long-life resource assets to deliver leading shareholder returns. This can be achieved through innovative practices and technologies, in the hands of our world-class people, working towards a common purpose of re-imagining mining to improve people’s lives. The Group Learning function will build the organisation’s ability to anticipate future skill requirements as a basis for development of people strategies and provide methods and mechanisms for development of those skills over time and at the point of need.

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE:

  • Operations:
  • Strong project management skills and experience in supporting projects is essential.
  • Experienced in the use of project management & collaboration software (e.g. Smartsheet/MS Project/JIRA/Trello) and MS Office suite.
  • Management:
  • Experience of interfacing with key stakeholders and colleagues
  • Compliance:
  • Ability to understand Safety, health and environment, legislative, statutory, and regulatory requirements in relation to role.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Operations:
  • Proficient understanding of how to interpret business needs and translate them into operational and technical requirements.
  • Strong planning and organising skills.
  • Good understanding of agile methodology and ability to apply an agile mindset to all aspects of work.
  • Stakeholder management.
  • Verbal and written communication skills with high attention to detail.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Commercial:
  • Understanding of business and customer drivers that generate value and impact decision making.
  • Management:
  • Data analysis and management for decision-making.
