What is the job role?
As a Learning Mentor, your primary role will be to provide individualised support to pupils, in collaboration with teaching and other pastoral staff, to promote their emotional well-being and enhance their learning experiences.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • NVQ Level 3 qualification or higher (or equivalent)
  • Previous experience working with vulnerable young people/children
  • Experience in SEND, challenging behaviour is also highly desirable
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare of young people
  • Empathetic, patient, and resilient natur

Responsibilities:

  • Mentoring and guiding the pupils identified as needing support
  • Devising, implementing and evaluating individual pupil action plans
  • Working alongside class teachers, pastoral staff, SEND Leader and other external agencies to identify pupils with barriers to learning and at risk of disaffection
  • Assisting students with SEND to set and achieve personal and educational targets
  • Engage and assist with various learning activities and programs
  • Implement strategies to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviours
  • Be a positive role model, helping pupils build confidence and self-esteem
  • Work closely with teachers, parents and the pastoral team to create a comprehensive support network for each student

Qualifications and Experience:
