JOB DESCRIPTION:

You will be responsible for meeting the educational and social emotional needs of various children under your care. You will help to assist and support children using various intervention approaches to support them in learning with the rest of the class.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum with a Diploma in Early Childhood Learning Support (SDELS)/ Early Childhood Intervention Special Needs or equivalent (SDESN)
• Advanced Diploma in Early Childhood or Degree in Early Childhood has an added advantage (ADECT)
• Prior experience in working with preschoolers or experience in EPIC/SPED/Early Intervention Schools
• Have interest in mainstream inclusion and implementation of early intervention strategies.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• A team player with passion in equipping and inspiring young lives.

• You are to assess children with learning and developmental issues identified by pre-school teachers using the prescribed screening tools.
• You are expected to develop Child Specific Education Plan where needed and progress reports to your superior after assessing the children through collation of case notes as well as to Paediatricians and the Therapy Team.
• You are expected to provide differentiated intervention approach to the children in the areas of educational needs, behavioural learning, social and communication skills by developing individual educational plan (IEP) and appropriate teaching materials.
• You will conduct intervention through support packages to Developmental Support-Learning Support (DS-LD) children and prepare end of intervention report.
• You will coordinate class-based activities with Early Childhood educators to ensure that strategies are generalised back into the classroom.
• You are to work co-operatively with families and pre-schools to support children’s learning and development
• You are to provide in-class support to children whom received intervention packages, ensuring goals set achieved during sessions with the DS-LS children and are generalized into classroom
• Engage families and caregivers to enhance children’s learning results
• Work with KKH-DCD (DSLS Consultancy Team) and other DSLS partners to support the DSLS child and his/ her family/ caregivers
• Support ICO in their role in the preschool centre
• Complete End-Of-Intervention (EOI) report at closure of case
