Responsibilities:

JOB PURPOSE

To negotiate; conclude and manage lease agreements at the best terms and conditions in order to expand the Nedbank footprint and renew existing Nedbank sites countrywide in the retail and office environment while minimising risk to the bank.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure leases are renewed timeously to avoid putting the bank at risk by extracting the renewals diary and ensuring the options are exercised within the Service Level Agreement (SLA).
  • Ensure that leasing information is correctly captured on databases to ensure that rentals are paid correctly by checking the data captured on the systems.
  • Maintain good client relationships by understanding and addressing client queries.
  • Facilitate the communication between stakeholders to ensure a smooth workflow by mediating all communication between internal and external stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain a good relationship with external stakeholders by using negotiation and people skills that foster good relationships.
  • Ensure that all leasing queries are addressed within specified timeframes by attending to them appropriately and timeously.
  • Vet leases’ terms and conditions and ensure that they are forwarded to RLM (Regional Leasing Manager)/ Legal department for validation by checking if the terms and conditions comply with set standards.
  • Comply with risk standards by ensuring that leasing workflow processes are followed and specific instructions are addressed.
  • Obtain board approval prior to concluding lease agreements by forwarding the unsigned leases to the board for vetting and approval.
  • Ensure that lease agreements are negotiated at market related rentals, escalations and conditions by conducting market surveys.
  • Check and sign lease agreements within mandate by reading through the lease and checking if it complies with set Nedbank standards before signing.
  • Support the achievement of the business strategy, objectives and values by reviewing Nedbank and Business Unit Plan and ensuring delivered systems, process, services and solutions are aligned.
  • Identify training courses and career progression for self through input and feedback from management.
  • Ensure all personal development plan activities are completed within specified timeframe.
  • Share knowledge and industry trends with team and stakeholders during formal and informal interaction.
  • Obtain buy-in for developing new and/or enhanced processes (e.g. operational processes) that will improve the functioning of stakeholders’ businesses by highlighting benefits in support of the implementation of recommendations.
  • Contribute to a culture conducive to the achievement of transformation goals by participating in Nedbank Culture building initiatives.
  • Participate and support corporate responsibility initiatives for the achievement of business strategy.
  • Seek opportunities to improve business processes and systems by identifying and recommending effective ways to operate and adding value to Nedbank.
