VOCATIONAL EDUCATION TEACHER, POSTSECONDARY

If you have an interest in supporting students to enter the beauty industry, UCOL’s Manawatū Campus has an opportunity available for a motivated and passionate Beauty Therapy Lecturer, fixed-term (ends December 2024), part-time position (12 hours per week) to deliver the Massage and Spa Therapy content within our New Zealand Diploma in Beauty Therapy L5 programme. The successful candidate will have current skills, knowledge and ideally 3 to 5 years current industry experience.
This position, based at our Manawatū Campus in Palmerston North, will require you to be hands on, facilitating one on one learning, mentoring and motivating students, and working with students individually, so your well-tuned rapport and communication skills will be required. As well as working with a dynamic team you will have the full support of the Academic Portfolio Manager and with all delivery resources and practical assessments fully developed.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- You must be a qualified beauty therapist with a recognised diploma qualification and ideally three to five years current industry experience
- An Adult Tertiary Teaching qualification and/or the NZ Certificate in Adult Literacy and Numeracy Education and/or unit 4098 workbased assessor or be working toward these
- Experience delivering at the tertiary level and/or extensive experience industry, ideally including training and supporting trainees/apprentices
