Description:

We’re looking to recruit a Lecturer for our Electrical, Electronic and Future Technologies Subject Group to further enhance teaching and learning in the area of Control Systems Engineering.
You will have expertise in control engineering applied to both electrical and mechanical systems and it would be great if you also have hands-on experience in development and deployment of control systems in industrial and/or applied research applications.
You will have the ability to create and deliver engaging and transformative learning and teaching experiences, as well as staying up to date in your subject area through research, consultancy and knowledge exchange activities.
The Department of Engineering and Mathematics is home to over 100 academic staff, with students and their experience at the forefront of what we do. We place equal emphasis on teaching and research, be it subject or pedagogic research to transform lives.
The Department is arranged into a number of subject groups responsible for developing and delivering their relevant subject areas and courses.
We benefit from strong industry partners and work with a number of leading organisations including JCB, Kimberly Clark, AMEY Rail and Network Rail to provide applied learning opportunities for our students and jobs for our graduates.
Our graduates perform well in the labour market with 89% in work or further study and 72% in highly skilled employment.
We offer a diverse range of benefits and opportunities to pursue a rewarding and fulfilling career in a supportive environment.
As well as 35 days annual leave and the eight standard UK bank holidays, you also get up to six extra days each year for extended University closure around some UK public/holidays.
You will be contractually enrolled into the Teachers’ Pension Scheme (TPS) – one of the largest and most generous defined benefit pension schemes in the country. Read more about the TPS.
For this job, we particularly welcome applications from minority ethnic and female applicants who are underrepresented in this area at Sheffield Hallam.
The University may be able to sponsor the employment of international applicants in this role; this will depend on a number of factors specific to the individual applicant.
Follow @sheffhallamjobs on X for job alerts and information about what makes this a great place to work.
We welcome applications for job share and flexible working arrangements.
