THE ROLE
The School of Chemistry at the University of Bristol invites applications for a Lecturer in Digital Chemistry for Synthesis.
The School is one of the largest, most globally engaged and vibrant Chemistry departments in the UK. Bristol Chemistry has wide-ranging intellectual strength across the entire discipline, a culture of entrepreneurial activity, and an awareness of global impact and environment. We envisage that the successful candidate will play a key role in implementing digital chemistry approaches to synthetic chemistry challenges within the TECS CDT and will contribute to the School’s strategic ambitions in Digital and Synthetic Chemistry. We interpret digital chemistry broadly, to include the use of new digital/data tools, working alongside more conventional approaches, to the chemical sciences. The post offers a unique opportunity to join a School of Chemistry that thrives on collegiality, scholarship and impact, at an exciting time in our history.
WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?
The successful candidate will contribute to the development of the School’s strategic priorities of digital chemistry and synthesis. They will develop and deliver postgraduate training within our Centre for Doctoral Training in Technology-Enhanced Chemical Synthesis. They will act as a facilitator of the use of digital techniques within synthetic chemistry research contexts and will develop their own independent research career at the interfaces of digital chemistry and chemical synthesis.
We are seeking outstanding applicants with a proven track record in chemical synthesis or digital chemistry applied to synthetic chemistry challenges.
