Job description
Capital City College Group is seeking a dedicated Lecturer in Information and Technology to join our dynamic team on a full-time, permanent basis. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the development and progression of students in the T-Levels Digital Production, Design & Development, and Level 3 BTEC in Information Technology. This role involves working on a variety of units that encompass practical, technical, and contextual elements.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT:

  • Background in IT with a relevant IT, computer science degree, or comparable job-related experience.
  • Possession of, or willingness to work towards a recognised teaching or training qualification.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Strong Python skills and excellent use of IDE, debuggers, and testing tools.
  • Broad understanding of Node.js, Django, MySQL, and ability to teach languages like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Python, PHP, and Java.
  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies and products using documentation and internet resources.
  • Ability to assess student abilities and needs, set appropriate targets, and achieve high levels of student success.
  • High level of organisational and administrative skills, consistently performing admin and student support duties to a high standard.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver, and assess the T-Levels Digital Production, Design & Development course, with a focus on Full Stack Development and Python.
  • Plan, deliver, and assess various units within the Level 3 BTEC in IT, including Information Technology Systems, IT Service Delivery, Using Social Media in Business, and IT Project Management.
  • Provide training, lectures, group, and individual teaching sessions to support student progression.
  • Oversee and monitor students’ use of the learning platform, ensuring their software engineering and personal development.
  • Monitor, audit, and support students’ work, providing tutorials and maintaining clear records of all student activity and progress.
  • Liaise with college student support services and engage with employers and partners to enrich the programme.
