Description:
The School of Biological Sciences invites applications for a full-time Lecturer (Teaching & Scholarship) to support and develop our large portfolio of undergraduate programmes in biology and biomedical sciences. The post-holder will be a member of the Division of Neuroscience and will be expected to contribute most of their effort to teaching on the Neuroscience programme.
You will be passionate about your subject area and committed to the delivery of outstanding teaching to students. You will deliver face-to-face and online lectures, small group tutorials and be required to prepare and mark associated assessments. Supervising year 2 dissertation students and final year (non-lab based) project students is also a core part of this role. The post-holder will also be expected to contribute to teaching administration. The post-holder will likely take over the role of programme director for the BSc Neuroscience degree in due course.
You will hold a PhD in a relevant subject with a strong background in Neuroscience and/or aligned topics. In addition, you will have experience of delivering undergraduate teaching.
As an equal opportunities’ employer, we welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons and all appointments will be made on merit. As we are committed to the principles of the Race Equality Charter Mark, we would particularly welcome applications from the Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) community who are currently under-represented at this level in this area.
