It is an exciting time to join the Independent and Supplementary Prescribing program team at Queen Margaret University. We currently run two approaches to the V300/ Independent and Supplementary Prescribing qualification and seek to appoint a lecturer for this program and the ability to contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching across the school of health sciences.
We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Independent and Supplementary prescribing with a specific focus on developing and enhancing the pharmacology content within our programmes. The successful candidate will be passionate about prescribing and pharmacology and will be committed to designing and delivering excellent modules and supporting students to obtain this recordable healthcare qualification.
You will be a committed educator, supervisor and outstanding communicator and will be expected to contribute to a range of teaching, research and/or scholarship, pastoral and administrative activities across the division of nursing and paramedic science. Teaching is delivered both in person and online.
You will be passionate about the student experience and committed to a teaching approach that integrates theory and practice with a particular focus on independent and supplementary prescribing. While able to teach across a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes it is likely that our role will be focused on supporting learners on the independent and supplementary prescribing programme with a particular focus on the pharmacological content. You will also be expected to take the lead on developing the content for both online and campus-based students as well as aligning to the Scottish approach for prescribing programmes and assessments.
You will have or be willing to study for a relevant teaching qualification and exhibit a clear ability to work collegiately with others to deliver set objectives. You will have a postgraduate degree in relevant healthcare subject area (or be working towards completion).
All applicants should have expertise and relevant clinical experience as a registered prescriber within a healthcare setting.
