Description:
MAIN FUNCTION
Undertake a full teaching load, including the development, delivery and evaluation of modules/programmes within the undergraduate and postgraduate provision within the School. To supervise students and to carry out administrative duties within the work area as required. To pursue excellence in teaching and to inspire others to do the same.
Responsibilities:
Teaching
- To design and deliver teaching allocated (depending on the profile of the successful candidate), and to contribute to module development as part of a team.
- To inspire undergraduate and postgraduate students under the guidance of a mentor / module leader and develop skills in assessment methods and in providing constructive feedback to students.
- To supervise the work of students including the supervision of Undergraduate and Master’s students and the co-supervision of PGR’s.
- To act as a Personal Tutor and provide pastoral support to students
Scholarship
- Contribute to scholarship in the area of work through participation in conferences, seminars and other academic and professional forums to disseminate the results of individual scholarship.
- Contribute to scholarship through interdisciplinary working with individuals and teams within, and external to, the wider university community
- Carry out other forms of scholarship including work associated with examinations (setting and marking paper and providing constructive feedback to students) and teaching related administration,

- To undergo personal and professional development that is appropriate to and which will enhance performance in the role of Lecturer.
- To participate in School administration and activities to promote the School and its work to the wider University and the outside world
- To mentor colleagues with less experience and advise on personal development
- Any other duties not included above, but consistent with the role.
