JOB SUMMARY

The Department of Music seeks a part-time lecturer to direct CSUSB’s Mariachi Los Coyotes (MUS 3834) beginning Fall semester 2024. Mariachi Los Coyotes is a recently-established ensemble open to all CSUSB students (of any major) and community members who sing or play violin, viola, cello, double bass, trumpet, harp, guitar, vihuela, or guitarron. The ensemble is also open to high-school students through CSUSB’s Open University Program.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates should have at minimum a Bachelor’s degree in Music or the equivalent professional experience performing Mariachi music and directing a Mariachi ensemble. Preference will be given to candidates who hold at minimum a Master’s degree and have prior experience engaging in Mariachi pedagogy.
