OBJECTIVE OF THESE POSTS:

The school are seeking a Lecturer/Programme Director to join the team. The post holder will help support the implementation of a range of nursing postgraduate specialist programmes. The ideal candidates will have a background in general adult nursing practice or education.
The principal objective of the post is to lead and participate in the development, direction, teaching, facilitation and examining of each allocated programme. The successful candidate will assist with the delivery of the school’s curriculum in the multi-cultural environment of RCSI Dublin, ensuring academic quality and consistency across the RCSI campus.

Responsibilities:

  • Participating in the administration and delivery of current teaching programmes, teaching modalities and assessment for post graduate nursing students
  • Undertaking collaborative research that complements and develops the school’s academic status and reputation, and contributes to nursing practice and education
  • Contributing to the development and introduction of new teaching programmes, teaching modalities and modes of assessment
  • Liaising with colleagues across RCSI international campuses in the facilitation of research and teaching activities
  • Mentoring students, and monitoring student assessment and progress
  • Supervising postgraduate students at Masters and PhD level
  • Participating in the development of RCSI’s teaching and learning strategy including the effective use of technology-enhanced learning
  • Contributing to quality assurance/quality improvement and accreditation of existing modules
  • Undergoing programmes of training and development as may be required
  • Undertaking overseas assignments as may be required from time to time
  • Employing a collaborative ethos in all aspects of academic practice
  • Performing such other related duties as may be required
  • Representing the best interests of the School and RCSI
