ABOUT US

The Faculty of Science and Health delivers flexible, innovative teaching programs which provide graduates with the skills and knowledge to build a career, advance their profession and contribute to their community. We currently have more than 9000 students and over 500 staff dedicated to advancing scientific knowledge.
We are a leader in strategic and applied research in a wide array of sciences. We enhance and extend knowledge, train and educate future researchers and provide scientific solutions to current challenges. We achieve this through ethical practice, professional collaborations, industry involvement and a commitment to continual improvement.
We also provide a range of health and other services to our regional communities through our enterprise activities.
The School of Dentistry and Medical Sciences is a multi-campus, academic unit. The School offers a suite of undergraduate and postgraduate courses both onshore and offshore in a range of health disciplines including: dentistry, oral health therapy, medical radiation science, pharmacy, health and medical science, medical laboratory science, and food science and nutrition.
Our world-class facilities and industry connections allow our students to get hands-on experience. Our researchers also make a practical, real-world difference with the projects they undertake.
The School is committed to enhancing its reputation as a high performing multidisciplinary unit and seeks academics focused on providing quality education and being actively involved in the development of health professional education and health-based research programs that complement these courses.
We are a university of the land and people of our regions. True to the character of regional Australia we have gumption, we have soul and we collaborate with others. We develop holistic, far-sighted people who help their communities grow and flourish.
The Wiradjuri phrase yindyamarra winhanganha means the wisdom of respectfully knowing how to live well in a world worth living in. This phrase represents who we are at Charles Sturt University – our ethos. It comes from traditional Indigenous Australian knowledge, but it also speaks to the mission of universities – to develop and spread wisdom to make the world a better place.
Harnessing technology, we thrive as a distributed yet connected community, welcoming and engaging with people across Australia and the world.
Charles Sturt University is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion. This is demonstrated through our Athena SWAN Bronze Institutional Award and our participation as a member in the Australian Workplace Equality Index. Applications are encouraged from Indigenous Australians; people with a disability; women (particularly for senior and non-traditional roles); people who identify as LGBTIQA+; and those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
