Description:

Manchester Fashion Institute (MFI) has an established reputation within the global Higher Education sector. We are uniquely positioned as one of the largest specialist fashion education providers in the UK, with depth and breadth of expertise in our field. Our research and teaching cross science and engineering, the arts, health, sociology, and sport. We foster an environment where diversity and equality flourish, where innovation is powered by a multitude of perspectives and cultures.
As part of the University’s significant investment in the delivery of the Manchester Fashion Institute’s new and ambitious strategic vision, we are looking for a practice-based educator and researcher to join our dynamic team. We have an excellent track record in industry collaboration, innovative teaching and learning, and academic research. In the last REF, our research contributed to Manchester Metropolitan University being ranked 2nd in the UK for overall research power for Art and Design (UoA 31).

Responsibilities:

We are looking for a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Digital Fashion Practice to contribute to our vibrant research community. You will have an emerging or established (L/SL) research specialism, in fashion technologies or digital technologies for fashion, and practice research outputs in accordance with your career stage.
You will have knowledge and practical experience of current and future digital or technological fashion methods and solutions and would be expected to deliver high quality theoretical and practical teaching sessions across a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
Experience does not have to be specifically from a fashion background, although we would seek assurance through the application process that your practice and research applies within a fashion context.
