Job information
The University of Bedfordshire Business School is at the forefront of expanding opportunity and access in higher education. With a strong focus on the student experience, we are committed to excellent, inclusive teaching that prepares our students for professional employment and that inspires them to achieve their ambitions. Our teaching, research and civic engagement make a real impact across business, public services and our community.
Following significant investment by the University in the learning environment and the student experience, we are seeking to appoint a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Tourism and Aviation Management to join our team and assist in driving our ambitious programme of strategic change.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering research-informed teaching on our undergraduate Tourism and Aviation courses and for ensuring an excellent student experience. An integral part of the role will be to work with colleagues to enhance the curriculum and programmes, including developing and delivering new practice-based units and courses.
We will consider applications from across the spectrum of Tourism and Aviation Management but are particularly interested in candidates also able to deliver high quality and innovative teaching in the areas of aviation and airport management, tourism marketing, airline revenue management, tourism planning and aviation safety and security.
The ideal candidate will hold a PhD or an equivalent professional qualification and have experience in an appropriate subject area. You will be an excellent communicator, will enjoy working as part of a team and will be committed to your own personal development within your subject area. Experience of engagement with external partners and delivering HE provision across a distributed campus would be an advantage. Knowledge and understanding of the direction of travel of the professional bodies in the field of Tourism and Aviation Management is desirable.
The post will be based at the Luton campus, with travel to other campuses as required. Opportunities for delivery at our international partner campuses may also be available.
INTERVIEWS WILL BE HELD 23 MAY 2024.
