Description:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • A Master’s in Nursing or a Master’s in a related Health discipline.
  • Experience in teaching and /or clinical supervision.
  • Evidence of publication output.
  • Registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse / Midwife / Community Health Nurse/Psychiatric Nurse.
  • Registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Nurse Educator.

An added advantage:

  • The ideal candidate for this position should be a highly-motivated person progressing or registered for a PhD in Nursing.
  • An additional qualification in a clinical speciality and/or Health Services Management .

Responsibilities:

The School of Nursing in the Faculty of Community and Health Sciences has a growing reputation as a leading educational provider for both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. The Faculty of Community and Health Sciences is seeking to permanently appoint a Lecturer within the School of Nursing.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key responsibility areas:

  • Coordinating activities for undergraduate and clinical programmes.
  • Supervision of Masters level research if he/she holds a PhD.
  • Teaching and learning at an undergraduate level and/or post graduate level.
  • Participate in research programmes,
  • Develop industry and academic partnerships.
  • Engage in community outreach.
