Description:

Job Summary
The Legal and Regulatory Officer will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements across the organization. This includes staying up-to-date with changes in laws and regulations, providing legal advice and guidance to internal stakeholders, and ensuring that the company operates within the prescribed legal framework.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitor and ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Provide legal advice and support to internal teams on various legal and regulatory matters.
  • Draft and review legal documents, contracts, and agreements.
  • Handle legal and regulatory issues, including investigations and disputes.
  • Assist in developing and implementing compliance policies and procedures.
  • Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations that may impact the company’s operations.
  • Coordinate with external legal counsel, as needed.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on specific issues as required.

REQUIREMENTS:

Academic / Professional Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB, BL) from a recognized institution.
  • Membership of the Nigerian Bar Association.
  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in a similar role.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of Nigerian laws and regulations.
  • Excellent legal research and analytical skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks with deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
