Aon is seeking a Legal and Research Practice Lawyer in Toronto, Ontario.

Our very-well respected Legal and Research Practice (LARP), which is unique within the insurance community, is looking for a fourth lawyer who will work with our account executives, brokers, and clients in assessing risk and risk transfer solutions through the lens of the law. What the day will look like

Under the direction of the Managing Director, Legal & Research Practice, servicing brokers and account managers as well as clients in identifying, analyzing and transferring exposures related to corporate / commercial liability.

  • Researching legislative, regulatory and judicial developments in the areas of corporate / commercial liability.
  • Assist and contribute to the publication of internal and external advisories, alerts, whitepapers, marketing sheets and state of the market reports examining corporate / commercial liability.
  • Assisting and drafting of policy wording to reflect emerging exposures.
  • Assist claims department, when required, in advocating for clients in corporate / commercial liability claims situations.
  • Create and present educational seminars internally and externally.
  • Assist account executives in prospecting by providing marketing material and by presenting to clients, prospects and organizations.
  • Provide regular research to assist in the day to day consultations with account executives and brokers.
  • Participate in conference calls with clients and present at client board meetings when needed.
  • Maintain and cultivate relationships within the legal community.
  • And such other responsibilities as Aon may assign from time to time.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE THAT WILL LEAD TO SUCCESS

  • Law degree with provincial Bar membership
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly motivated and ability to provide research support for internal and external clients
