REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ previous experience as a Legal Assistant in Financial Services or Corporate Law
  • Successful completion of a related post-secondary Legal Assistant or Law Clerk program
  • Knowledge of Workshare Compare or a similar document comparison program
  • Overtime, as required
  • Handle time pressure situations and stress of multiple demands

SKILLS:

  • Microsoft 365 suite of applications, including experience with creating, numbering, styling and rebuilding documents
  • Familiarity with iManage, Aderant, CorpLink and DocuSign
  • Posses a strong sense of pride and responsibility for your work

Responsibilities:

  • Create, revise and format all documentation to the highest quality with extreme attention to detail
  • Prepare, edit and finalize a variety of transactional documents relating to corporate reorganizations, share/asset purchase and sale transactions
  • Create signature packages for closings
  • Organize and track delivery of closing documents
  • Assist with all administrative aspects of corporate transactions and post‑closing matters (including wires and record books)
  • Produce high volumes of quality work under tight deadlines
  • Proofreading, strong accuracy and quick turnaround time is essential
  • Organized and meticulous with follow-up
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Handle all administrative details with respect to accounting, expenses, wires, opening and closing files, docketing, billing, e-filing, etc.
  • Ensure all e-filing is organized, up to date and easily available
  • Draft letter and email correspondence to forward incoming mail to clients
  • Communicate professionally with all external clients
  • Produce the highest quality of work
