Responsibilities:
THE ROLE
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Legal Assistant to join our team in Hobart. This role will support a number of solicitors at varying levels who specialise in a broad range of defendant insurance areas. Part-time applicants will be considered, please specify your availability in your cover letter. Duties of this role will include:
- file management – opening/closing files and filing/e-filing;
- monthly billing and reporting;
- adhering to client service standards;
- drafting correspondence;
- client liaison;
- brief preparation;
- diary and travel management including booking appointments; and
- general PA and secretarial support.
This role will suit a candidate with the following:
- previous experience in defendant insurance litigation;
- experience using precedent, billing and file management programs;
- enthusiastic and proactive approach to work;
- strong communication skills; and
- ability to build strong internal relationships
