EXPERIENCE
As the successful candidate, you will be an intermediate level Legal Assistant with at least three years experience in a professional firm, working across Litigation and Insolvency. You will be highly motivated with excellent organisational skills with a strong desire to provide exceptional support to your authors. Furthermore, you will demonstrate the following attributes:
- An ability to exercise initiative;
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise with internal and external parties;
- An ability to multi-task and manage competing deadlines;
- Excellent attention to detail;
- Self-motivation with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team;
- An ability to work effectively with the other senior Legal Assistants in the team; and
- Excellent technical skills and understanding of software applications.
Responsibilities:
We are searching for an enthusiastic Legal Assistant to join our Litigation and Insolvency teams, working from our Sydney office on a full-time basis. In this role, you will provide support to one Partner, and several authors, whilst collaborating closely with other Legal Assistants across the firm.
Each day will be diverse, including the following key duties:
- secretarial support for general administrative tasks;
- brief preparation, court document drafting, amendment and management;
- preparing lists of documents and other quasi paralegal duties;
- proactive diary management and meeting coordination;
- coordination of travel arrangements;
- file opening and management;
- proactive management of monthly client reporting and billing; and
- general administrative tasks such as taking phone calls and sending mail.
