We are currently seeking a highly motivated Legal Assistant - Probate and Business Transactional for our Columbia office.

Responsibilities include:

  • Transcription
  • Scheduling
  • Maintaining calendars
  • Creating legal documents
  • Maintain court dockets and rosters
  • Answer phone
  • Provide support to Paralegals and Attorneys as requested
  • Other duties as assigned

Candidates should have the following skills and/or attributes:

  • Three or more years’ experience working in a probate, estate planning or business transactional practice
  • Thorough understanding of the litigation process
  • Ability to prioritize
  • Knowledge of court and administrative hearing rules and procedures
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc….) and other legal software applications
  • Professional demeanor, excellent communication and computer skills
  • Must be flexible with the ability to handle a large caseload in a fast-paced environment
  • Exceptional analytical skills with strong attention to detail
  • Team member who participates in shared office duties and requirements
  • Stable employment history
