We are currently seeking a highly motivated Legal Assistant - Probate and Business Transactional for our Columbia office.
Responsibilities include:
- Transcription
- Scheduling
- Maintaining calendars
- Creating legal documents
- Maintain court dockets and rosters
- Answer phone
- Provide support to Paralegals and Attorneys as requested
- Other duties as assigned
Candidates should have the following skills and/or attributes:
- Three or more years’ experience working in a probate, estate planning or business transactional practice
- Thorough understanding of the litigation process
- Ability to prioritize
- Knowledge of court and administrative hearing rules and procedures
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc….) and other legal software applications
- Professional demeanor, excellent communication and computer skills
- Must be flexible with the ability to handle a large caseload in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional analytical skills with strong attention to detail
- Team member who participates in shared office duties and requirements
- Stable employment history
