How you make a difference:
As a Legal Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in supporting the Claims Litigation Team by handling administrative tasks essential to claims management. Your responsibilities will include organizing documents, scheduling meetings, and assisting the Director of Claims Litigation and VP of Litigation/Risk with various administrative needs. Your attention to detail and organizational skills will ensure the smooth functioning of the team’s operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide confidential administrative support to the Claims Litigation Team, including answering phones, managing mail, and composing routine correspondence.
  • Utilize software applications to create, edit, and print various documents such as reports, contracts, and amendments.
  • Coordinate teleconferences and process new claims by establishing files and inputting necessary data into the team’s database.
  • Manage and organize documents in both paper and electronic filing systems, and handle check requests and responses to law firm accounts payable teams.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned by claim staff, ensuring efficient administrative support as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Education

  • High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum of two years’ experience as a legal assistant in a law firm or corporate legal department.
  • Highly skilled in MS Word, Power Point, and Outlook with the ability to multitask daily. Proficiency in Excel, including data sort capabilities and ability to generate reports from Excel.
  • Outstanding communication and organizational skills required.
