Job Overview:
Our well established client are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Legal Cashier to join their team. As a Legal Cashier, you will be responsible for managing financial transactions and maintaining accurate records for our law firm.
Responsibilities:
- Providing high quality, timely, professional accounting service in accordance with the Solicitors Accounts Rules.
- Maintaining Client Ledgers: Recording Client Receipts and Payments, Issuing Client and Office Cheques, Paying Office invoices and disbursements, Transferring Costs.
- Invoicing: Posting client invoices and maintaining work in progress and bills paid reports.
- Nominal Ledger: Payments and Receipts, Reconciling Ledgers via remittance advices and invoices received.
- Producing Monthly Reports including Credit Control Report, Debtors Reports, Business Source Report, Bank Reconciliations, Cancelling cheques out-of-date on the bank reconciliation, reissuing cheques.
- Banking: Daily Office and Client Bank Reconciliations, Banking cash and cheques received, using the Online banking facility for making payments.
- Miscellaneous: Liaison with the COFA (Compliance Officer for Finance and Administration). Undertaking any other reasonable duties as required which may be allocated by the Directors.
ADDITIONAL NOTES
You will be assisted by a part-time Accounts Assistant who will be working on Client Account; you will also work closely with the Practice Manager, particularly around month end and year end tasks.
