The BCFMA is responsible for supporting BC families by providing a free service to track and collect child and spousal support. Our in-house Legal Counsel positions assist in the effective administration of child/spousal maintenance support through the provision of legal services to the Agency and providing BCFMA staff with advice on all aspects of family maintenance law.

Responsibilities:
As the successful candidate, you will be a part of a diverse and inclusive team with opportunities for personal and professional growth. We also provide comprehensive training in a positive learning environment. In our world, no day is ever the same, but you can expect a typical day to include some combination of the following:
- Providing client managers, case managers and other BCFMA staff with advice on all aspects of family maintenance law.
- Responsible for preparing cases for Court, instructing external legal counsel, and making Court appearances as a representative of the BC Family Maintenance Agency.
- Working effectively with legal assistant team members to provide high quality and timely legal services.
- Effectively communicating with other stakeholders in the family law legal system including payors and recipients.
