Responsibilities:

THE ROLE

We are looking for a smart, ambitious, driven Legal Counsel that is ready to hit the ground running and take on an all-encompassing role spanning corporate, commercial and regulatory related legal matters (for all aspects and levels) for our Irish and EU business, Paymentsense Ireland Limited (t/a Dojo).
You will be a key member of the Group Legal team and work cross functionally with Group Legal, Compliance and Procurement across Dublin (and teams in Madrid, Milan and Paris), London, Bristol and Hull.

WHAT YOU WILL DO…

  • Work with the Irish and EU business, the Group Legal team, Group Compliance team, Group Procurement team and external counsel on a broad range of legal issues.
  • Provide legal and practical risk mitigation advice on a broad range of matters relevant to our Irish and European business, including around:
  • general corporate matters;
  • commercial contracts (including the Group and Irish business’ approach to its compliance with the EBA guidelines on outsourcing);
  • Irish and EU legal and regulatory issues related to all areas of Irish and EU law, including PSD2, e-money, consumer protection, market abuse, anti-money laundering;
  • a wide range of other legal matters relating to our Irish and European business (including working, where necessary, with external counsel on litigious matters and liaising with specialists within the Group Legal team on matters relating to data privacy and employment law).
  • Act as board secretary for the board of Paymentsense Ireland to:
  • convene board meetings and support in producing agendas, taking minutes, conveying decisions and handling related correspondence;
  • provide related legal and strategic advice in relation to corporate governance and any related regulatory or statutory changes which may affect the company;
  • work closely with directors and members of the management teams on all matters relating to corporate governance.
  • Advising on legal issues surrounding the localisation and structuring of financial and non-financial products such as:
  • drafting customer-facing legal documents;
  • working with the product and commercial teams to help deliver solutions that are compliant with PSD2 and the EMRs;
  • Undertake research and analysis of legal issues. Evaluate the necessity for external legal advice and managing external counsel on complex or high-value legal issues. Assist the Compliance team with monitoring compliance obligations pertaining to the company and keeping abreast of legal developments within or outside of the business.
