Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Legal Counsel provides legal advice, expertise and support across a broad range of legal matters and can appropriately balance client, resident, staff and organisational outcomes. The role also supports the Head of Legal and the Company Secretary.
This is permanent full-time role based a St Leonards with some working from home flexibility.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

  • Timely and accurate corporate and commercial legal advice on statutory reporting, contracts, property, estates, IT, IP, privacy and others across HCs aged care, health and hospitals business
  • Preparing and maintaining precedents
  • Expert guidance on policy, risk-management, governance and legislative changes
  • Ensuring HC complies with its legal obligations in pursuing its strategy and objectives
  • Briefing external lawyers and independent consultants as required.
  • Supporting Head of Legal with legal research, advice and on projects.
  • Supporting Company Secretary in arranging Board meetings, taking minutes and supporting interface with State and Federal Government Agencies
