Description:
We are partnering with a Global non-bank lender that is looking for an experienced Legal Counsel to join their team.
As Legal Counsel, you will be playing a crucial role in providing your commercial, contractual and regulatory expertise to support in building new products, onboarding new partners and meeting regulatory obligations. Your main function is to ensure that the company is protected through the provision of legal advice. You will need excellent communication and stakeholder management skills for this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing solutions focused legal advice on commercial and regulatory matters in relation to credit and financial services
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts
- Supporting the Risk and Compliance teams in implementing regulatory changes
- Identifying current and future legal risks
- Support in strategic projects within the legal department and broader business
Skills and Experience
- 3-5 years PQE of legal practice from a top tier law firm, or in-house
- Experience in drafting legal documents and the ability to advise on a diverse range of legal matters
- A strong level of commercial awareness and strategic thinking
- Relevant legal practicing certificate and tertiary qualifications for NSW
- Exposure to financial services
