Description:
POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Legal Counsel to join our team in Singapore. As the first Legal hire in Singapore, you will be responsible for providing strategic legal advice and support to our group of companies, ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations in Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree from an accredited law school and called to Bar in Singapore or Malaysia.
- 5-10 years of experience practicing law, with a focus on technology and corporate law. Experience in fundraising and investment related legal matters well regarded.
- In-depth knowledge of cloud computing, data privacy laws, cybersecurity, and related regulatory frameworks in Singapore and the region.
- Strong negotiation, drafting, and analytical skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing business needs.

Responsibilities:
- Provide legal guidance and support on a wide range of issues related to cloud computing and regulatory compliance.
- Review, draft, and negotiate a range of contracts, agreements, and legal documents pertaining to tech services, fundraising, and transactions with customers, partners, and vendors across the region.
- Monitor and analyze changes in laws and regulations impacting the industry and advise the company on compliance requirements.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, product development, and operations, to identify and address legal issues throughout the business in the region.
- Conduct legal research and due diligence to assess risks and opportunities associated with new business initiatives and partnerships
- Manage disputes, litigation, and legal proceedings involving the company in the region, working with external counsel as needed.
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure legal and ethical business conduct across the region.
