We represent an Australian headquartered global luxury brand.
Given the brand’s growth, a rare opportunity has arisen for a mid to senior-level property lawyer to support the brand globally across property and leasing matters.
REQUIREMENTS
This role would suit a mid to senior-level lawyer, with either in-house or private practice experience in a dedicated property law function. Full-time or part-time is available.
Some key requirements include:
- Admission as a solicitor in Australia with 4-8 years’ PAE if full-time or 8+ years’ PAE if part-time
- Training at a reputable private practice firm, or in a similar in-house role
- Dedicated leasing experience
- General commercial law experience would be viewed favourably
Responsibilities:
- Negotiate Australian leases after LOI stage.
- Review foreign leases and instruct local lawyers globally.
- Work with commercial partners on draft lease terms in certain global locations.
- Stay up to date on key legal and regulatory requirements for leasing and property in Australia.
- Liaise internally on upcoming leasing work for boutiques, storage, offices, warehouses, showrooms and other spaces, such as concessions.
- Coordinate with relevant teams regarding leasing requirements, including personnel in the Finance, Retail, Property and Projects teams.
- Maintain and extend tracking systems for lease terms, renewal options, notice requirements and other key details.
- Review and provide legal advice on concession agreements; work on systems for tracking global concession terms and dates.
- Work on other property related contracts such as general contractor agreements.
- Support on other legal work where required including commercial contracts and company establishment in new jurisdictions.
- Advise on liability under leasing agreements for work required and negotiate outcomes.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with external partners, law firms and internal stakeholders.
It is anticipated that this person will work most closely with the company’s CEO and the Retail Property Project Manager.
