About The Role:
Bosa Properties is hiring for Legal Counsel to work closely with our experienced legal team. Our in-house Legal Counsel will play a key role in all major legal dealings in relation to Real Estate Development, Acquisitions, Leasing, Partnerships, Financings, and other legal matters. The successful candidate’s focus areas will depend on their strengths, interests, and experience. The Legal Counsel will work directly with various departments in the organization and the Executives and Senior Leadership Team to provide guidance and support across multiple lines of our business.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing legal guidance and advice on marketing, project sales, strata property act matters, subdivision, rezoning and land title issues;
  • Drafting or working with disclosure statements, amendments and addressing REDMA compliance;
  • Drafting or working with interests in land, such as easements, air space parcel agreements, statutory rights of way, covenants, and other charges on title;
  • Drafting and negotiating real estate purchase and sale agreements and related documents;
  • Drafting and negotiating commercial leases, advising on landlord remedies for enforcement and related documents;
  • Advising on commercial tenancy matters, lease interpretation and enforcement of tenant obligations;
  • Preparing and vetting financing/mortgage documents including commitment letters, sophisticated credit agreements and lender security documents;
  • Drafting, reviewing and advising on corporate structuring, partnership and joint venture documents;
  • Support with various other legal matters relating to real estate law, construction law, tax law, and corporate law work.

What You Bring:

  • Six (6) years of post-call experience working in a busy real estate law practice;
  • A qualified lawyer in good standing with the Law Society of British Columbia;
  • Demonstrated ability to listen intently and work collaboratively, building strong relationships across the organization and with external partners;
  • Highly organized, ability to follow up and to manage multiple tasks simultaneously;
  • Proactive and ability to work independently as well as part of a larger team of real estate professionals;
  • Excitement to contribute to a broad range of real estate law matters, and to work with and learn from a multi-talented real estate law team;
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, exercising strong organization, initiative and judgment.
