JOB SUMMARY
Primary responsibility of this position is to support Cemex US General Counsel and direct reports in all areas of office support, including but not limited to the following: SAP research, external invoice process management, correspondence, filing, data consolidation, report preparation, research, and communication with various departments. Position has other various responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum Associate Degree or equivalent with some office/administrative training preferred.
- Some experience in a law firm or legal department helpful.
- Advanced use of SAP.
- Proficient use of Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Excellent organizational and communication (oral and written) skills.
- Self-motivated, proficient and personally accountable, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to adapt to change, handle competing priorities, meet deadlines and interact with people from all levels of the organization.
- Spanish speaking a plus.
- Knowledge of construction industry preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Requires walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing to a significant degree
- Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently.
- Job involves sitting most of the time, but also involves walking or standing for brief periods of time
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, in order to communicate to employees/visitors
Responsibilities:
- Assist Legal Department in administrative, corporate, and litigation matters.
- Perform administrative office responsibilities including drafting correspondence, filing, indexing, organization, data entry and word processing.
- Manage outside legal counsel invoice process.
- Create/update/maintain standard work for legal process (how to documents for each process).
- Maintain and organize legal records.
- Research legal matters, corporate history and other matters as necessary.
- Prepare legal reports and summaries, as necessary.
- Project management responsibilities as assigned by Legal Department personnel.
- Plan meetings and conferences as necessary.
- Work closely with other internal departments to coordinate projects.
- Maintain confidentiality in all areas of responsibility.
