About the Role
As a Legal Editor, I ensure accurate, timely, and quality editorial content are fit to be published into LexisNexis various media and online platform. I manage authors, suppliers, and freelancers.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct legal research, relevancy and accuracy checks on manuscripts received from contributors.
  • Copy-edit manuscripts for accuracy, relevance, and conformance to house style.
  • Proof-reading of pre-press manuscripts for language, punctuation, and readability of content.
  • Adhering to publishing schedules for all formats and implementing agreed plans for product enhancements.
  • Managing authors, freelancers, and suppliers
  • Working with the team to develop and implement ongoing product development
  • Implement and support continuous process improvements to achieve best practice
  • Building effective relationships with colleagues, customers (internal and external), and management

Requirements

  • Have experience in law practice advantageous
  • Be informed of latest developments and changes in the law
  • Have legal research skills
  • Be skilled in Microsoft Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and internet research
  • Knowledge or experience in publishing is advantageous.
  • Have sound communication and reading comprehension skills
  • Have sound command of the English language
  • Have understanding law and it’s application
  • Meticulous
  • Ability to work on tight deadlines
