This is an exciting opportunity for those coming from a legal background but interested in non-practicing track working in the legal team in an operational context. The role is within a fast growing and high performing legal team to improve operational efficiency through providing strategy solutions, back-office operations support, effective coordination across multi-jurisdictional teams and technology solutions.
The successful candidate must be inquisitive, enthusiastic about e-commerce and innovation, enjoy a fast-paced environment and being continually challenged, and embraces efficiency and loves working in an international and cross-cultural environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Working closely with the Group’s centralised legal operations team to develop agile and coherent processes and practices to improve the day-to-day efficiency and effectiveness through supporting operational performance initiatives within teams and practices globally.
  • Being the liaison person and the bridge between the EMEA legal team and centralized legal operations team to ensure local practices and priorities of the regional team are understood and reflected in the process improvement initiatives so they can deliver desired results by the leadership.
  • Support the development of process improvement methodologies and tools that are reflective of our operating environment, as well as assist in identifying and implementing tools to streamline new or existing practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional and geographic teams including marketing & business development, data security and IT and other relevant business units and also within the global legal teams.
  • Actively identify where process improvement activities can be deployed for wider business benefits and work with the legal team to consolidate and translate learnings so we can scale up on knowledge sharing and training efficiently.
  • Support reporting on metrics and case studies demonstrating how value is added through process improvement initiatives.
  • This role would also act as the translator and system support to the EMEA legal team to provide efficient support on day-to-day tasks such as invoice processing for external counsels (working with Legal tracker and internal approval systems), reporting, helping with the internal audit or the legal team, induction of new joiners and other assistance that the team may require.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of working experience at a reputable law firm and/or large corporations in a similar role
  • Professional proficiency in both English and Mandarin and practical experience in legal translation, legal operations, executive assistance of legal teams is highly preferred.
  • High degree of independence, initiative, and good judgement, an strong sense of professional accountability.
  • Experience and capacity in project management on multi-jurisdictional projects would be advantageous.
  • Ability to deliver results, always keen to help and quick to respond would be important attributes for any successful candidates.
