On behalf of a distinctive Immigration Law Firm based in Pyrmont, 2009, Sydney NSW, we are conducting a search for a dedicated and skilled Legal Researcher
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- Bachelor’s degree in law, legal studies or a related field
- At least 2 years of experience in legal research and analysis
- Strong knowledge of statutes, regulations and legal precedents relevant to Australian migration law
- Fluency in a foreign language (Portuguese, Spanish, Hindu, Punjabi, Mandarin)
- Excellent analytical, research and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in legal research tools and databases
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively
SALARY:
The role offers a remuneration package ranging from $70,000 - $80,000, plus superannuation for a 38-hour work week.

Responsibilities:
- Provide legal research and analysis to support advisory services provided to clients.
- Conduct in-depth research on statutes, regulations, policies, case law and previous Court/AAT decisions relevant to immigration law and cases handled.
- Interpret legal principles and their application to specific cases and scenarios.
- Collaborate with legal professionals, including Lawyers and Registered Migration Agents, to ensure accurate and timely delivery of legal research and support services.
- Assist legal professionals in preparing for hearings and other legal proceedings by gathering relevant legal materials and providing research support as needed.
- When applicable, coordinate witnesses for trials and hearings, including scheduling, communication, and preparation of witness statements.
- Analyse legal issues, arguments and evidence presented in diverse matters and provide evaluations and recommendations based on research findings.
- Prepare and deliver written and oral opinions on points of law, offering clear and well-reasoned advice to legal professionals to support case strategies, submissions, and decision-making.
- Monitor and oversee all legal affairs, maintaining accurate records of legal documents, forms, correspondence, and case-related information.
- Stay abreast of developments in Australian migration law, legislative changes, case law updates and emerging legal trends that may impact business operations and client representation
