QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Minimum of 1 year of previous experience as a Legal Secretary is essential to be considered for the role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and legal software applications.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in document preparation and data entry.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work under pressure.
  • Legal secretarial qualification or relevant diploma/certification is advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide administrative support to legal professionals, including managing calendars, scheduling appointments, and organizing meetings.
  • Prepare and draft legal documents, correspondence, and court forms accurately and efficiently.
  • Maintain and organize physical and electronic filing systems to ensure easy retrieval of documents.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, attorneys, and other staff members in person, via telephone, and through email.
  • Assist in the preparation of trial materials, including exhibits, witness lists, and trial binders.
  • Handle incoming and outgoing mail and ensure timely distribution to the appropriate recipients.
  • Perform general office tasks such as photocopying, scanning, and filing.
  • Uphold confidentiality and discretion in handling sensitive information.
