Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking an experienced Legal Secretary to join our successful Sydney Public Law team in a full time capacity. Working alongside our current high performing secretarial team you will provide secretarial and administrative support to a number of junior and senior lawyers.
The role offers plenty of variety including:
- Creating, drafting, editing and formatting a range of legal correspondence and documents including tender bundles and briefs to counsel
- Assisting with project managing files including drafting cost agreements, monitoring fee estimates and client reporting
- End to end monthly billing including timesheets, amending bill narratives and finalising and despatching bills
- Management of court and fee earner calendars
- Coordination of meetings and internal/external functions
- Opening and closing of matters including e-filing and physical archiving via Aderant Expert (billing) and iManage (document management) systems
- Arranging travel
- Reconciling expenses for authors on a monthly basis and
- General ad hoc administrative duties.

- An understanding of litigious procedures and legal terminology
- Competent technical ability using Microsoft Office suite
- Knowledge of Aderant Exert for billing is advantageous
- The ability to produce accurate, high quality work within set timeframes
- A strong attention to detail
- Possess strong written and verbal communication skills
- A high level of professionalism, a can-do approach and initiativ
