The outcome of the council’s Total Pay and Reward review means the full-time salary for this position from 1st April 2024 will be £29,777 to £31,364. The salary will be pro rata for part time and term time vacancies.
Come and work for an “Outstanding” Youth Justice Service. We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join a team of dedicated practitioners to support our offer to victims within Youth Justice.

We remain committed to Signs of Safety as a practice framework, but this will be set within a much wider, values based, model of practice that clearly connects Signs of Safety much more clearly with the East Riding value base, and our overall approach to making and sustaining relationships with children, families and communities.
Without a well embedded model, there is nothing to centre our practice on to ensure that, while the work may be different, all of our teams are grounded in the same values, beliefs, theories and approaches. Having a well-developed practice model helps to create a common language for the service and enables everyone to understand how we go about doing the right things, in the right way and for the right reasons for children and their families.
We are looking for an energetic and creative practitioner who can demonstrate tenacity and enthusiasm in making a positive difference to the lives of children and young people. The ideal candidate will be committed to working in a child first, strengths-based manor and support children being diverted away from the formal Criminal Justice system.
The post requires skills and experience working with children and families. The successful applicant will be responsible for the support to victims where a crime has occurred. In addition, work with the parents/carers of children will form part of the core work. As a multi-agency team, it is expected for the post holder to liaise closely with colleagues from partner agencies and police to ensure that victims receive a high-quality offer of support.
Additionally, the role will include supporting children to engage in restorative justice, alongside the restorative justice officer.

The ideal candidate will have:

• NVQ2 or equivalent qualification.
• Experience of working with young people and their families
• Excellent communication and writing skills
• The ability to work flexible hours if needed, include evenings and weekends
• The ability to work as part of a team

Appointment to the post is subject to a satisfactory enhanced disclosure from the Criminal Records Bureau and successful police vetting due to the position base being at Beverley Police Station.
