Description:

Aversan Inc. (www.aversan.com) is a reputable Engineering Company that provides expertise in the aerospace, defense, and medical industries. We are currently seeking a qualified Liaison Engineer for a full-time permanent position with our client based in Hamilton, Ontario
The position reports to the Repair Engineering Manager based in British Columbia. The liaison engineer will be responsible for being the primary focal point for production (maintenance) operations for engineering related issues and for liaising with appropriate departments and organizations for resolution.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Completion of a degree from a recognized Canadian secondary institution in a relevant engineering discipline, such as Aerospace Engineering.
  • Liaison engineering experience in the aviation industry is preferred.
  • Familiarity with the structural design philosophy and primary and secondary structure repair. methodology for Boeing or Airbus commercial aircraft preferred (A320 experience strongly preferred).
  • Should have the ability to analyze incomplete information and implement timely decision making while mitigating risk factors.
  • Should possess a thorough understanding of maintenance requirements, processes, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of aircraft materials and hardware as well as aeronautical engineering standards and specifications.
  • Competence in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office to a sufficient level to perform the day to day tasks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, coupled with a high sense of commitment, and a willingness to accept responsibilities while acting independently in a high-pressure team environment.
  • Must be well organized and detail oriented with the ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines while performing tasks accurately.
  • Must be a strong supporter of continuous improvement efforts.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary focal point for production operation regarding engineering related issues
  • Provides engineering support as required for the disposition of discrepant conditions affecting aircraft or components in order to restore serviceable status, including assisting with the interpretation of the aircraft manufacturer’s repair manuals, drawings, and other repair instructions.
  • Responds to requests from maintenance when technical assistance is required to support projects or resolve problems.
  • Coordinates transfers of information from engineering as required.
  • Works in close cooperation with the engineering team.
  • Researches and develops repair proposals for structural defects, corrosion, or service damage, and liaise with the aircraft manufacturer during the submission and review for concurrence, if/ as required.
  • Maintains knowledge of current and pending regulations that affect areas of responsibility and ensures that all engineering actions maintain compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Keep the repair engineering manager informed of daily operations.
