You will have a good general education, a strong customer focus, be reliable and punctual, and able to work under pressure. Team work, accuracy, and good IT skills are also essential. Previous experience in academic libraries, especially in a special collections environment, and a familiarity with SOLO/Alma and library databases would be desirable.

Responsibilities:

We are seeking to appoint a Library Assistant to join the reading room team in the Weston Library. You will undertake a range of library duties associated with front-line reader services, including issuing books/manuscripts from the Reserve to readers, dealing with book supply problems, answering readers’ queries, advising on the scope and extent of collections, invigilation and applying library and copyright rules and regulations.
This is a permanent, full-time position, working 36.5 hours per week. This role will also involve regular manual handling. Full training will be provided.
