A) EDUCATION

  • College Library and Information Technician Diploma and a Bachelor’s degree /or
  • a Bachelor’s degree with three years experience working in libraries
  • Knowledge of theological/Biblical studies, preferred

B) EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 2-3 years’ relevant experience in an academic setting
  • Supervisory experience, preferred
  • Experience with WorldShare Management Services or another integrated library system, preferred
  • Knowledge of interlibrary loans, preferred

C) SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Ability to adjust to ongoing technological changes in an atmosphere of continuing automation
  • Ability to work accurately with details at a fair rate of speed and keep an automated circulation system functioning effectively
  • Competency in the use of Microsoft Office applications including Microsoft Word and Excel, and a willingness to be trained in the use of specialized library software
  • Demonstrated good customer service skills
  • Good interpersonal skills in order to relate well with patrons, co-workers and student workers
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to work independently as well as part of a team

Responsibilities:

POSITION PURPOSE

The Library Circulation Coordinator ensures that the circulation services (including but not limited to circulation of library materials, maintenance of user accounts, recording of statistics, accounting/reconciliation of payments and supervision of student workers) of Tyndale Library are provided in an efficient and seamless manner, serving the needs of the Library users/customers/ patrons. The Coordinator provides interlibrary loan services to users both at Tyndale Library and from other institutions. The Coordinator also provides materials to distance education students, and endeavors to make library materials more readily accessible to the Tyndale community.
