Responsibilities:

TE TŪRANGA | ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Collections Specialist you will be responsible for selecting print, digital and non-book resources for the library collection. The role will use an evidence based approach to ensure that the collection is well used and meets the changing needs of the community. The role is 32 hours per week worked over 5days and is based at the central Tauranga Library with regular visits to Papamoa Pāpāmoa, Greerton and Mount Maunganui libraries to manage collections.

Key duties of the role include;

  • Actively selecting resources and managing assigned collections.
  • Manage the selection and purchase of serials with the vendor.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to deliver promotion of the collection, this may include staff training, public events and other initiatives.

  • Proven experience in evidence based collection management
  • Effective organisation skills with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to manage competing priorities
  • Ability to effectively manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, engaging with public on occasion.
  • Current full drivers licenc
