Description:

LIBRARY TECHNICIAN/ASSISTANT

Applications are invited from enthusiastic and motivated Library Technicians/Assistants to join our Secondary School library team from the beginning of Term 2, 2024 (or as soon as possible after this). This is a permanent position with both full time or part time options currently available to cover different shifts in our secondary library over the opening hours during the school term (8am – 6pm weekdays). Interest in covering shifts in our Primary Library at times would be an advantage.
The successful applicant for this role will be required to perform general library duties, including providing high level service at the circulation desk, assisting staff and students with research and also resource cataloguing. They will also have a passion for reading, able to provide recommendations to students and staff, and able to contribute to maintain a warm, friendly and supportive climate in the library.
The successful applicant will be a good communicator with strong interpersonal skills. They will have high level organisational and administrative skills, a commitment to provide excellent customer service and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Strong technological skills (including internet research skills, skills in using MS Office and a proficiency with library information management systems) are essential for this role. They will also be committed to the full life of the school and support its Christian ethos.
Appropriate library experience and/or library qualifications would also be an advantage.
