Description:

  • Job Purpose: Ensure that assigned zones/aircraft are maintained as per latest revisions of approved authority Technical Publications such as Aircraft documentation, Technical Notices, Quality Notices, and Engineering Procedures Manual etc.
  • Ensure prompt attendance to all allocated aircraft arrival/departures with the intent to maximize the opportunities during ground time and avoid operational delays/disruptions, including accountability for a safe and on time dispatch of the flight.
  • Ensure all off-aircraft tasks i.e. spares handling, robberies, hold items…etc. are handled strictly in accordance with Company procedures and all the relevant paperwork is actioned in a way that provides full transparency to all involved.
  • Determine that any tooling/equipment used is serviceable and appropriate for the task and should be able to understand and use specialized tooling where required.
  • Supervise activities performed by technicians, including all aspects of servicing, defect rectification and maintenance carried out on an aircraft.
  • Participate and promote a safety culture in an effort to minimize accidents and highlight deficiencies/failures that can lead to such accidents, including highlight deficiencies/requirements through the effective use of reporting tools.
  • Ensure all relevant reports pertaining to issues of service delays, incidents and accidents, are completed as soon as possible and in detail identifying all elements leading up to events. Liaise with MCC and other concerned parties in the event of defects affecting the dispatch of the aircraft.
  • Be available to be deployed anywhere throughout the EK operation including diversionary airfields to assist in the recovery process of an Aircraft on Ground.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have UAE GCAA/ ICAO Type II/ JAR 66 and/or B1 licence type rated in at least 2 Emirates aircraft types.
  • Completed an Apprenticeship in Mechanical, Electronic, Avionics or Aeronautical Engineering or equivalent training with a reputable airline or an approved maintenance organisation.
  • Preferred, but not essential - UAE-GCAA B1 or EASA 66 licence holder Airframe and Engines. Holder of approvals on Boeing B-777/Trent 800 and GE90 as well as A380 aircraft with GP7200 and Trent 900.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Significant experience as a certifying Engineer in an Aviation Maintenance Environment, including experience at supervisory level.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

  • Job holder must have an ICAO type II / JAR 66 / GCAA type rated licences on company aircraft as well as company approvals.
  • Thorough technical skills and knowledge on aircraft systems including Avionics and safety practices.
  • Fully conversant with Air Legislation and legal matters that relate to the operation and maintenance of aircraft to international standards.
  • Full valid drivers license and a valid airside drivers license.
  • Proficiency in English.
    Must have the legal right to work and live in Australia unrestricted.
